RDDL (Resource Directory Description Language)

RDDL is a combination of human-readable (by using XHTML) and machine-readable (by using XLink) information, designed to provide information about some target. RDDL has been primarily desgined to describe XML Namespaces by linking from XML Namespaces' URIs to any number and type of resources that may be relevant to the XML Namespaces being described, such as schemas (DTDs or XSDs, for example) or documentation.
Being based on the unsuccessful XLink specification, RDDL 1.0 did not get a lot of traction. RDDL 2.0 thus was based on the more successful RDF specification, but was never finished and has been replaced by GRDDL (which is also based on RDF).
