JPEG 2000

JPEG 2000 is a Wavelet-based Image Compression which has been designed as the successor of the popular JPEG Image Compression. One of the most important differences is that JPEG 2000 includes a lossless mode for Image Compression, whereas JPEG always used lossy Image Compression algorithms.
