Exif (Exchangeable Image File Format)

Many digital cameras store images using Exif compressed files. Exif compressed files use JPEG for Image Compression. This means the image data can be read by any application supporting JPEG (uncompressed Exif uses the TIFF format). In addition, Exif stores Meta Data within application segments at the beginning of the file, and uses sRGB as the default color space. It is recommended that Exif image files should be named and arranged in directories according to the DCF specification.
