The XML Infoset is an abstract
Data Model describing the information available from an
XML document. For many applications, this way of looking at an
XML document is more useful than having to analyze and interpret
XML syntax.
DOM describes an
API through which the information in an XML Infoset (i.e., the information available from a specific
XML document) can be accessed from different programming languages.
