XSL (Extensible Style Language)

XSL is a Style Sheet Language that can be used for displaying XML documents. Using XSL is two-step process, the first step being a transformation of the XML document using XSLT 1.0, and the second step being the rendering of the result of the transformation, which is done using XSL-FO. While XSL covers the same application area than CSS, it is much more powerful, because the transformation step (using XSLT 1.0) can perform arbitrarily complex transformations of the XML document, while CSS is not able to make any structural changes to the XML document.
